<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface coating member excellent in coating film adhesion, and to provide a method for producing the same. <P>SOLUTION: In the coating member, a hard coating film is coated on the surface of a base material by physical vapor deposition. The hard coating film is composed of a diamond-like carbon coating film and a mixed gradient coating film comprising titanium and carbon, which is provided between the diamond-like carbon coating film and the base material and in which the content of titanium is reduced from the base material side toward the diamond-like carbon coating film. When the maximum peak intensities of titanium and carbon, obtained by glow-discharge emission spectroscopic analysis in the thickness direction, are defined as I<SB POS="POST">Ti</SB>and I<SB POS="POST">c</SB>, respectively, the titanium amount and carbon amount in the mixed gradient coating film satisfy following relation: 1.2<I<SB POS="POST">c</SB>/(I<SB POS="POST">Ti</SB>×10)<2.0, preferably, 1.3<I<SB POS="POST">c</SB>/(I<SB POS="POST">Ti</SB>×10)<1.5. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
