893,022. Hinges and pivots. ARBOLL, R. Nov. 17, 1960 [Nov. 19, 1959], No. 39468/60. Class 65(2). A hinge has two diametrically opposed notches 4 in one end of the hinge barrel which are engaged by a spring loaded transverse pin 5 so as to hold the hinge in a given position the end of the barrel being tempered to reduce wear. The whole of the hinge barrel may be tempered or a tempered ring 2 may be used at the end of the barrel. When a tempered ring 2 is used it may; have teeth 3 driven into the main part of the barrel 1 or it may have teeth engaging complementary teeth on the barrel in which case the position in which the hinge is held may be adjusted. The pin 5 may pass through a longitudinal slot in the pivot pin to prevent it from rotating with the barrel 1. |
