<p>Compounds of the formula <FORM:0986547/C2/1> where R1 and R2 represent hydrogen, alkyl or alkenyl containing up to 10 carbon atoms, are obtained by reacting an aniline of formula <FORM:0986547/C2/2> with ammonium thiocyanate and bromine in glacial acetic acid.ALSO:Herbicidal compositions comprise one or more compounds of formula <FORM:0986547/A5-A6/1> (wherein R1 and R2 are the same or different and each represents a hydrogen atom or alkyl or alkenyl group containing up to 10 carbon atoms) and at least one inert diluent, the composition being solid, semi-solid or a solution or suspension of the active ingredient in a liquid medium containing or consisting solely of a surface-active agent. The surface-active agents may be anionic, nonionic or cationic. Specified forms are dusts, emulsions, pastes, aerosols and emulsifiable concentrates. The compositions may contain other herbicides.</p> |
