Disclosed are a mobile terminal which provides a thumbnail capable of checking overall content of a video, and a controlling method thereof. The mobile terminal of the present invention comprises: a memory storing the video; a display unit outputting the video and the thumbnail of the video; and a control unit playing the video, and generating a plurality of representative images from the video to generate the thumbnail. The control unit merges a plurality of representative images so that the thumbnail can be generated. |
