<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rack and pinion type steering device capable of giving fixed pressing force to a rack guide even if the rack guide moves to a rack shaft side when a rack, a tooth part of a pinion, and the rack guide are worn away.SOLUTION: A rack and pinion type steering device comprises: a rack shaft 12 which moves back and forth in an axial direction; a pinion shaft 15 which engages into the rack shaft 12; a housing 14 in which a holding hole is formed on the opposite side of the pinion shaft 15 on both sides of the rack shaft 12; a rack guide 21 which is slidably accommodated in the holding hole, and slidably supports the rack shaft 12; an encapsulation member 24 which is provided at a position where the holding hole closes; and an energization member 25 which is interposed between the encapsulation member 24 and the rack guide 21, and energizes the rack guide 21. A ratchet device 30, which shifts a position of the rack guide 21 to a side of the rack shaft 12 according to an abrasion loss of the rack guide 21, is provided between an outer periphery of the rack guide 21 and the holding hole.</p> |
