PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a hot stamp steel material to enhance a coating adhesion.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a hot stamp steel material according to one embodiment comprises the steps of: preparing a steel plate; executing a molten zinc plating treatment using a molten zinc plating bath containing Al of 0.1 to 0.25 wt.%, on the steel plate; applying an alkali aqueous solution containing a Zr compound to the surface of the steel plate plated with molten metal thereby to form a membrane containing Zr of 20 to 450 mg/mon the surface of the steel plate; and forming the hot stamp steel material by heating the steel plate formed with the membrane, to point Ato 950°C and then by heating the steel plate while pressing the steel plate by using a mold.
