PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ribbed filtration medium which improves filtration performance.SOLUTION: A ribbed filtration medium includes a three-dimensional groove passage in the surface of the medium. A medium pack, a filter element and a fluid filtration method are also provided. The groove passage is configured so as to improve the filtration performance. In an embodiment, the groove passage has clear peaks reducing masking between adjacent peaks and has uplifted parts (ridges) for correcting the geometrical shape of the cross section of the groove passage along the length of the groove passage and/or produces an asymmetry of the volume extending over the medium.
