Specifically the invention relates to BAG3 RNA or a fragment thereof for use as biological markers for the diagnosis of a pathological state.;Furthermore, the invention involves specific kits and methods, for detecting and/or evaluating the levels of BAG3 RNA or a fragment thereof in a biological sample.

A method for diagnosing in vitro or ex-vivo of a pathological state, comprising the step of detecting and/or quantifying the levels of BAG3 RNA or a fragment thereof in a biological sample, wherein said pathological state is selected from the group consisting of: heart disease, diabetes, inflammation and inflammatory related diseases of the skin, nerves, bones, blood vessels or connective tissues, and cancer disease selected from the group consisting of pancreatic cancer, bladder cancer and prostate cancer.
