摘要 A speaker microphone design that prevents, eliminates, and/or minimizes speaker mechanical failure caused by fine metal particles in the ambient environment. The contemplated invention includes embodiments that utilize one or more barrier cover installed at a location between the speaker diaphragm and the grille. The barrier cover can be a thin shell of various shapes and sizes, such as a dome-shaped structure. In other embodiments, the barrier cover can be a thin membrane, such as a Bayer® film. Additionally or alternatively, the speaker is positioned further back away from the grille, to provide a clearance space of at least 10 mm between the diaphragm and the grille. This novel design of clearance is also effective in preventing, eliminating, and/or minimizing speaker mechanical failure caused by fine metal particles in the environment.
