A SEPARATOR HAVING POROUS COATING LAYER, A MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF, AND ELECTROCHEMICAL DEVICE CONTAINING THE SAME

In a separator which includes a flat non-woven fabric member having multiple pores; and at least one kind of porous coating layer which is formed on/in the surface of the non-woven fabric member and is a mixture of inorganic particles and binder polymer, the non-woven fabric member is a microfiber having the average thickness of 100nm to 500nm. The rate of pores having the major diameter of 50 to 300nm is 50% or more. The inorganic particles include small inorganic particles of the average diameter of 40 to 200nm and large inorganic particles of the average diameter of 400 to 5,000nm. A porous coating layer including the small inorganic particles is formed in the non-woven fabric member. A porous coating layer which includes a mixture of the small inorganic particles and the large inorganic particles is formed on at least one surface of the non-woven fabric member.
