PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for specifying a fine location of an SMS emitted from user equipment (UE) in a communication network implementing open-mode (OM) femtocells (FCs).SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a mobile network (MN) organized into location areas (LAs) and service areas (SAs) gathering a geographically homogeneous set of cells of the MN, with gathering of FCs into specific additional SAs. The emission of an SMS from a UE coupled to an FC triggers a location specification step, with communication to a location platform (PF) of the MN of a rough location comprising an SA code and an LA code corresponding to the FC, and of a fine location comprising unique data, such as an IP address and an INSEE code, of identification of an Internet box associated to the FC. These pieces of data are then transmitted to the PF by an SMS management center. The FCs may hence operate in an OM, and each FC can be coupled to any UE registered with a mobile network operator. |
