PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for forming an area to block contaminated water, which confines contaminated underground water containing harmful substances in a fixed area with easy means to prevent the outflow to the outside the area and the inflow from the outside the area, also effective as preventive measures for liquefaction; and a method for forming an area to block contaminated water using the device.SOLUTION: A partition plate 3 is disposed in a well 1, so that a contaminated water inflow chamber 4 and a compressed air chamber 5 are formed. The contaminated underground water in the surrounding soil naturally flows in through contaminated water inflow holes 6 of the contaminated water inflow chamber 4, and the compressed air is ejected to the surrounding soil through compressed air exhaust nozzles 7 of the compressed air chamber 5 and a bottom aperture 9 of the well 1, so that sand particles are moved to fill the gap in the soil. Consequently a water cut-off wall 16 having a shape of cone with a bottom is naturally formed. |
