摘要 FIELD: chemistry.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing ethanol by reducing acetic acid, which includes passing a gaseous stream containing hydrogen and acetic acid in vapour phase with molar ratio of oxygen to acetic acid of at least 4:1, at temperature of about 225°C to 300°C over a hydrogenation catalyst containing platinum and tin, dispersed on a modified substrate.
