The invention relates to a backpack harness comprising two shoulder straps (1), a belt (2) and a central portion (3) linking the belt (2) with one of the ends of each shoulder strap (1). According to the invention, the belt (2) of the backpack harness forms the belt of the climbing harness, while the shoulder straps (1) are converted into thigh straps (17) in the climbing harness, said straps being equipped with height-adjustment means at the connection to the belt (2), using loops and a quickdraw sling (6), and means for adjusting the free inner space, using buckles (19) and ties (20), and the central portion (3) of the backpack harness continues to provide a link between the belt (2) and the shoulder straps (1), now the thigh straps (17) of the climbing harness. Consequently, the backpack harness fitted with a series of accessory elements can be converted into a climbing harness and vice versa. |
