<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coal carbonization apparatus for production of carbonization coal of a reduced mercury content.SOLUTION: A coal carbonization apparatus comprises a carbonization apparatus body 111 having an inner cylinder 112 supplied with dried coal 11 and an outer cylinder 113 covering the inner cylinder and forming carbonization coal 12 and carbonization gas 21 by heating the dried coal 11 in the inner cylinder indirectly with a heating gas 1 supplied into the outer cylinder 113 and means of forming carbonization coal of a reduced mercury content by removing carbonization coal adsorbed with mercury and discharging carbonization coal. The absorption of mercury achievable by low mercury content carbonization coal formation means depends on the size of carbonization coal, and the low mercury content carbonization coal formation means is arranged between the inner cylinder 112 and the carbonization coal discharging means and provided with a classifier 151 classifying carbonization coal discharged from the inner cylinder 112 into coarse carbonization coal 12ad having grain sizes equal to or larger than a specified value and a low mercury content and fine carbonization coal 12ac having grain sizes smaller than the specified value and a high mercury content and fine carbonization coal discharge means discharging fine carbonization coal classified by the classifier 151.</p> |
