Apparatuses, including systems and devices, and methods for mobile imaging and image analysis. In particular, described herein are methods and apparatuses for assisting in the acquisition and analysis of images of the tympanic membrane to provide information that may be helpful in the understanding and management of disease, such ear infection (acute otitis media). These systems and methods can also be applied to other diagnostic imaging both directly on/inside the body (skin, eye, body cavities, etc.) as well as pathology slides and other isolated samples. Applications include both diagnostic medicine, as well as areas like consumer skin and hair care, as well as other general imaging applications.
