PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a breaking device of ice pieces capable of preventing variations in grain size formed by breaking.SOLUTION: A breaking device of ice pieces 26 comprises: a casing having a throwing aperture for throwing ice pieces in the inside; a pair of breaking drums 106A and 106B arranged in the casing with opposed external circumferential surfaces in parallel with each other and having a predetermined space therebetween, the pair of breaking drums 106A and 106B being rotatable in a direction from an upper part toward a most narrow part and having a space above the most narrow part for receiving the ice pieces to be thrown; and by-pass prevention plates provided at each of drum shafts of the pair of breaking drums and rotatably supported by opposing inner surfaces of the casing, the by-pass prevention plates being arranged at each end of the pair of breaking drums in an axial direction of the drum and about the most narrow part of the pair of breaking drums so as to cover a gap between the inner surface of the casing and the corresponding edge face of the pair of breaking drums. |
