<p>The present invention relates generally to an apparatus (10) for regauging a pair of railway tracks (12A & 12B), each having an upper flange (28A & 28B) and a lower flange interconnected by a web (26A & 26B). The apparatus comprises a pair of abutment elements (14A & 14B) adapted to engage one face only of the respective webs of the pair of railway tracks. The pair of abutment elements are interconnected by an intermediate member (16), which is adapted to rest on the upper flanges of the tracks. An actuator (18) is operativley coupled to one of the pair of abutment elements for laterally displacing the pair of railway tracks relative to one another to restore them to their correct separation. A method of regauging a pair of parallel railway tracks relative to one another is also disclosed.</p> |
