<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an effective fermentation treatment by effectively collecting hydrogen gas and further, using hydrogen fermentation as a pre-treatment of methane fermentation. <P>SOLUTION: The method for generating hydrogen includes supplying an apple squeezed residue in which ethanol fermentation is not substantially generated to a fermentation tank 100 and generating hydrogen by the fermentation of hydrogen generating bacteria from sugar and pectin contained in the apple squeezed residue.
