Disclosed in the present invention are a navigation system with a lane guiding function and a method for providing navigation information. The navigation system with a lane guiding function comprises: an image obtaining unit which obtains an image of a driving road; and a control unit which recognizes a lane where a vehicle is positioned in the obtained road image, and guides the vehicle to change the direction when the recognized lane does not allow direction change toward a desired direction at a first point that is an expected direction change point in a guided route. Therefore, the navigation system can safely and accurately guide the vehicle even in close continuous intersections or in a road with complex lane changes, by providing accurate land guide based on the current position of the vehicle. |
