The invention relates to a device for carrying out non-destructive inspections in oil transportation pipes located in deep and ultra-deep waters, in which the method used for detecting faults includes gamma-ray examination. The device essentially comprises a main body, a floating element and a chamber provided with LED lighting, and a moveable mechanical attachment unit, which holds and attaches the device to the pipe to be inspected. A basket containing an adapted source of radioactive pulses is attached to the first arm of the moveable mechanical attachment unit, and a radiation detector is attached to the second arm of the moveable mechanical attachment unit. Both the first and second arms are attached to the central body by an actuating system. |
