PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent electric power from being uselessly consumed by a device.SOLUTION: A monitoring device 100 receives an electric power value from a sensor 20 for detecting the electric power value supplied to a production system 10. The monitoring device 100 receives information on an amount of production from a sensor 30 for detecting the amount of production of the product produced by a production system 10. The monitoring device 100, based on the electric power value and the information of the amount of production, determines whether or not the electric power value is greater than a first threshold value and the amount of production is equal to or less than a second threshold value. The monitoring device 100 outputs an alarm when the electric power value is greater than the first threshold value and the amount of production is equal to or less than the second threshold value.
