The present invention relates to a device for preventing a collision between the steady rest and the tail stock of a lathe, which is capable of preventing the collision when preventing the additional movement of the tail stock interlocked with a tool rest by separating the tail stock from the tool rest in the case of the transmission of an impact force with a predetermined level or more. The device comprises: a ball holder installed to be fixed to the tail stock; a ball prevented from being separated from the inside of the ball holder to the outside of the ball holder by being mounted to protrude; a first spring providing an elastic force to push the ball; a spring cap thread-coupled to the ball holder when the first spring is positioned between the ball holder and the spring cap, and used to control the elastic force of the first spring according to a thread-coupling depth between the ball holder and the spring cap; and a bracket installed to be fixed to a position facing the ball and positioned on the tail stock, and having a mounting groove to be coupled to the ball.
