PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving support device which enables a driver to understand a recommended speed to change lanes when the driver intends to change the lanes.SOLUTION: A driving support device comprises: vehicle speed detection means which detects a speed of an own vehicle; other vehicle detection means which detects a state of another vehicle traveling in the vicinity of the own vehicle; lane change available region calculation means which calculates a lane change available region indicating a region, enabling the own vehicle to change lanes, on an adjacent lane adjacent to the lane where the own vehicle travels on the basis of the speed of the own vehicle detected by the vehicle speed detection means and the state of the other vehicle detected by the other vehicle detection means; recommended speed calculation means which calculates a recommended speed of the own vehicle when the own vehicle approaches the lane change available region on the basis of the speed of the own vehicle and the same of the other vehicle; and display means which displays the lane change available region calculated by the lane change available region calculation means and the recommended speed calculated by the recommended speed calculation means.
