<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To update a correction value of shading correction in parallel with continuous reading.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit that continuously forms images on a roll sheet, an image reading unit that reads the roll sheet on which the images are formed, a shading correction unit that performs shading correction of output values of the image reading unit by using a correction value, and a control unit that acquires, of the output values of the image reading unit, output values of a plurality of blank areas at different positions in the conveyance direction of the roll sheet (steps S51 and S53), determines a new correction value according to the difference between the output value of each of the respective blank areas and the output value of the blank area located immediately before each of the blank areas, and updates the correction value to the new correction value (steps S54 to S56.)</p> |
