<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an object identification apparatus that, when a moving object is included in a predetermined imaging area, can accurately identify whether or not the moving object is a human. <P>SOLUTION: A monitoring apparatus 3 as an object identification apparatus includes: an acquisition section 21 for, when a moving object is included in a pickup image 200 imaging a predetermined monitored area 4, acquiring an enlarged image 300 of the moving object, which includes a visible area and an infrared area; an analysis section 22 for detecting spectra of a plurality of particular wavelengths in the infrared region on the basis of the enlarged image 300, and analyzing the material of the moving object on the basis of the results of the detection; and an identification section 23 for identifying the type of the moving object on the basis of the result of analysis by the analysis section 22. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
