<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display a map of a periphery of a user when the user is in a place about which the user is geographically ignorant and out of a radio communication service range of a cellular phone 10 such as a foreign country.SOLUTION: A user downloads desired pre-map information from a map information providing server 40 beforehand through a radio base station 30 or a PC 50 on an external memory 11 of a cellular phone 10. When the user designates display of the map information, it is determined whether it is within a radio communication service range or out of the range. If out of the radio communication service range, a map of a current position is displayed on the cellular phone 10 on the basis of the pre-map information. If within the radio communication service range, map information corresponding to the current position is obtained through the radio base station 30 and the map is displayed on the cellular phone 10.</p> |
