<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that since readability is changed when performing resolution reduction in accordance with a sort of a character, it is difficult to perform the resolution reduction by selecting suitable resolution.SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus for generating compression image from an input image includes: generation means for generating one or more low-resolution images having resolution different from that of the input image; creation means for creating binary images for at least two of the input image and the one or more low-resolution images; selection means for selecting a binary image from the plurality of binary images on the basis of a difference of feature values between the plurality of binary images created by the creation means; and compression means for generating compression data for the input image by compressing the selected binary image.</p> |
