A functional film which has organic layers (16) and inorganic layers (14) that are alternately formed on a support (12) and a conveyance support (24) that is bonded to the back surface of the support (12) with an adhesive layer (20) therebetween and that exhibits thermal characteristics different from those of the support (12), wherein: the tack strength between the adhesive layer and the support is 5 to 50N/25mm; and the tack strength between the adhesive layer and the conveyance support is 0.01 to 1N/25mm. The functional film can be manufactured by forming, while conveying such a long support/adhesive layer/ conveyance support laminate longitudinally, organic layers and inorganic layers alternately on the surface of the support. Thus, a functional film in which organic layers and inorganic layers are laminated alternately and which has no defect in the inorganic layers or the like and can stably achieve objective performance can be obtained at a low cost. The present invention provides such a functional film and a process for manufacturing the same. |
