<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate a void period in which a focus detection area cannot be set due to delay of output of a face detection result after recording start when carrying over the focus detection area set during video recording standby utilizing the face detection result, to the video recording time, and also to solve a problem of inability of setting a focus detection area due to difference of aspect ratios of a screen before and after video recording.SOLUTION: After video recording start, a focus detection area is set at a position based on a face detection result before video recording until another face detection result is obtained. In addition, the focus detection area is set so as to fit within an angular field after the video recording.</p> |
