Embodiments of the present invention provide a communication method, a base station and a user equipment (UE). The method comprises: using an antenna weighting manner to form m beams, wherein m is a positive integer that is greater than 1; based on an uplink detection signal of a UE, determining uplink receiving power of each beam in the m beams; based on the uplink receiving power of the each beam in the m beams, selecting n beams from the m beams, wherein n is a positive integer and n<m; and through the n beams, sending a pilot signal to the UE. The embodiments of the present invention determine the uplink receiving power of the each beam in the m beams based on the uplink detection signal of the UE and select the n beams from the m beams for sending the pilot signal to the UE based on the uplink receiving power of the each beam in the m beams, instead of sending the pilot signal to the UE through all beams, thus improving flexibility of configuring the pilot signal for the UE and reducing pilot signal measurement complexity of the UE. |
