METHOD FOR EVALUATING THE LUBRICATION AND/OR FRICTION OF HAIR

The invention relates to a method for evaluating the lubrication properties provided to human hair by a treatment material suitable for application to human hair, the method comprising the method comprising: i) selecting a first bundle of hair fibres having an upper and lower region; ii) treating the first bundle of hair fibres with a treatment material suitable for application to hair, wherein the treatment material is selected from: sebum; artificial sebum; and, a personal care product, or one or more ingredients thereof; iii) holding the treated first bundle of hair fibres an angle of from 30° to 90° as measured from the horizontal so that the upper region of the bundle of hair fibres is raised relative to the lower region; and, iv) placing an object selected from the group consisting of: paper, card, feather, leaf, and flower petal onto the upper region of the first bundle of hair fibres so that said object will fall along the first bundle of hair fibres to its lower region under gravity.
