PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color display device which is capable of high definition display and can be manufactured easily, and a manufacturing method therefor.SOLUTION: The color display device comprises a plurality of pixels on a substrate, each pixel being composed of at least two kinds of sub-pixels emitting light in visible range differing in wavelength and a white sub-pixel. The at least two kinds of sub-pixels and the white sub-pixel each include an optical path length adjustment layer and a white light-emitting organic electroluminescent layer held between a light semi-transmissive reflection layer and a light reflection layer, forming a resonator in which an optical distance between the light semi-transmissive reflection layer and the light reflection layer in the at least two kinds of sub-pixels is the distance which resonates the respectively emitted rays of light. An optical distance between the light semi-transmissive reflection layer and the light reflection layer in the white sub-pixel is longer than the maximum length of the optical distance between the light semi-transmissive reflection layer and the light reflection layer in the at least two kinds of sub-pixels. |
