A process for producing a fine powder of mixed plastics, comprising the steps of preparing mixed plastics whose chlorine concentration is in the range of 2 to 20 mass% by an increase or decrease of at least one plastic selected from the group consisting of a chlorinated plastic and a nonchlorinated plastic; agitating the mixed plastics in molten form to thereby attain dechlorination to a chlorine concentration of 0.9 mass% or below; cooling the agitated matter having been dechlorinated to thereby solidify the same; and pulverizing the solidified matter. By the application of this process, rather increasing of the chlorine concentration of waste plastic as long as the chlorine concentration falls within a given range accelerates the agitation and dechlorination of molten waste plastic to thereby enable production of waste plastic powder that is rather very low in chlorine concentration and highly fine. Therefore, plastics having been discarded in living, industrial activity, etc. can be reutilized as a reducing agent, fuel, etc. |
