<p>A garment 1 comprises a sleeve 2 for surrounding the foot, including at least the ball of the foot and a portion of the heel, and having portions positioned above and below the foot in use. A cushioning element 3 is attached to or formed integrally with the sleeve 2 for cushioning the ball of the foot, with at least one locating element 4 connecting the upper and lower portions of the sleeve to prevent rotational movement thus retaining the cushioning element 3 in position. The locating element 4 may be a longitudinal seam 5 defining two distinct compartments for receiving one or more toes, or it may provide multiple sleeves or pockets for one or more toes, even one sleeve for each toe. The cushioning element 3 may be a foam pad, while the garment 1 may be a sock, a footsie, a stocking, a sock liner, or tights.</p> |
