<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a center pillar reinforcement member which has both of a part quenched and hardened by local hot press working, and a part not quenched and hardened.SOLUTION: A center pillar reinforcement member 1 of this invention comprises a column part 2, an upper side fitting part 3, and a lower side fitting part 4. To each of the column part 2, the upper side fitting part 3 and the lower side fitting part 4, a crank-shaped cross sectional shape consisting of an outer plate part 7, a web part 8 and a flange part 9 is given by press working at least in a part of each of them. An outer ridge line part 10 is formed at a boundary between the outer plate part 7 and the web part 8, and a flange ridge line part 11 is formed at a boundary between the web part 8 and the flange part 9. The outer ridge line part 10a and the flange ridge line part 11a of the upper side fitting part 3, and the outer ridge line part 10b and the flange ridge line part 11b of the column part, are quenched and hardened by local hot press working.</p> |
