PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic dictionary device that has higher functions.SOLUTION: An electronic dictionary device includes: dictionary data comprising a plurality of index words and a plurality of kinds of item related to the index words corresponding to the respective index words; a word/phrase reception part (251) which receives retrieval word or phrase for retrieving dictionary data; a retrieval part (220) which retrieves dictionary data based upon the received retrieval word or phrase; and an output control part (230) which makes an output part output the result of the retrieval, the plurality of kinds of item each including one or more words or phrases. The retrieval part includes: a determination part (221) which determines one or more kinds of retrieval object item among the plurality of kinds of item based upon the character kind of the received retrieval word or phrase; and an item retrieval part (222) which retrieves an index word related to an item including the received retrieval word or phrase among the determined retrieval object items. |
