A lubricator comprises valve blocks removably secured to a base, the valve blocks containing passages communicating with passages in the base, the latter passages comprising a common inlet manifold and respective outlet passages from the valves and a system of passages to interconnect the valves. The valve blocks 20, 22, 24, 26 are secured to base 28 by bolts, the end blocks having lugs in Fig. 1 (not shown), which are replaced in Fig. 10 (not shown), by removable members 271 so that the blocks are not only independently removable but are all reversable and interchangeable. As in Fig. 4 (not shown), the base comprises three plates 100, 102, 104 secured together and having grooves and communicating passages. In operation (see diagrammatic view of Fig. 12) lubricant from inlet 30 enters bore 54 of valve 26, flows through passage 110 and displaces the multi-land piston of valve 20 to the left, lubricant forced out of passage 112 passing via bore 54 of valve 26 and passage 114 to outlet 36. Lubricant from the inlet then flows through passages 118 and displaces the piston of valve 22 to the left and forces lubricant via passages 120, 122 to outlet 38. Eventually all pistons are displaced to the left. Lubricant from the inlet then flows through passage 112 and displaces the piston of valve 20 to the right. forcing lubricant via passages 110, 136 to outlet 34. Lubricant from the inlet then flows through passage 120 and displaces the piston of valve 22 to the right. The cycle is completed when all pistons are on the right. A by-pass passage 170 with valve 172 deflects lubricant from one outlet to another.
