<p>[Problem] To minimize looseness, in relation to the body for supporting a lid, in a lock mechanism for keeping the lid in a closed position. [Solution] A lock mechanism (5) for a glove box (1) having a lid (4) that closes an opening (2) in an instrument panel (3), wherein the mechanism is configured so as to have: a lock hole (17) provided in the instrument panel; an extendable lock pin (28) displaceably supported between a first position and a second position, engaged in the lock hole in the first position, and urged in the extended state by a pin urging member (53); a slider (27) provided in the lid, the slider contacting an inclined surface (18A) when the lid is in the vicinity of the closed position, so that the lock pin is displaced to the first position; an operation part (22) displaceably provided in the lid; and a link member (23) that is displaced in accordance with the displacement of the operation part, the link member compressing the lock member in the first position under the urging force of the pin urging member and causing the lock member to detach from the lock hole.</p> |
