CATHETER HUB

A catheter hub includes a distal assembly including a distal hub member adapted to be fixedly attached to an outer catheter and a proximal assembly including a proximal hub member adapted to be fixedly attached to an inner catheter disposed through the outer catheter. An elongate member connects the proximal and distal assemblies such that the proximal and distal assemblies can translate longitudinally relative to one another.

1. A catheter hub, comprising:
a distal assembly including a distal hub member adapted to be fixedly attached to an outer catheter; a proximal assembly including a proximal hub member adapted to be fixedly attached to an inner catheter disposed through the outer catheter; and an elongate member connecting the proximal and distal assemblies such that the proximal and distal assemblies are capable of longitudinal translation relative to one another, wherein the distal assembly comprises lateral wings adapted to accommodate a finger on a distal side of each of the lateral wings and the proximal assembly comprises a longitudinally centered depression on a proximal side thereof adapted to accommodate a thumb such that the distal and proximal assembly is adapted to be ergonomically brought together with three fingers.
