Discussed are a backlight unit and an LCD device including the same. The backlight unit includes a light guide panel, a light source part disposed at a side of the light guide panel to emit the light, an optical sheet disposed at a front surface of the light guide panel to change a traveling direction of the light to a direction vertical to the light guide panel, a guide panel separated from an end of the optical sheet, and configured to guide the light guide panel, the light source part, and the optical sheet, a reflector disposed at a rear surface of the light guide panel to reflect the light toward the front surface of the light guide panel, a side reflector adhered to a side of the light guide panel, and a cover bottom coupled to the guide panel and in which the reflector is disposed.

1. A backlight unit comprising:
a light guide panel; a light source part disposed at a side of the light guide panel to emit a light; an optical sheet disposed at a front surface of the light guide panel to change a traveling direction of the light, transferred from the light guide panel, to a direction vertical to the light guide panel; a guide panel separated from an end of the optical sheet, and configured to guide the light guide panel, the light source part, and the optical sheet; a reflector disposed at a rear surface of the light guide panel to reflect the light, transferred through the light guide panel, toward the front surface of the light guide panel; a side reflector adhered to a side of the light guide panel; and a cover bottom coupled to the guide panel, and in which the reflector is disposed, wherein a catching part light absorbing material is coated on a catching part which is formed at the optical sheet.
