Provided is a method for creating, from human mesenchymal stem cells, cells having the qualities of endometriosis ("endometriotic cells" hereafter). Also provided are a method for creating a model animal displaying human endometriosis by transplanting the cells in an animal, and an endometriosis model animal. The endometriotic cells are created by a method comprising a step for culturing cells which have been obtained by exposing human mesenchymal stem cells to a differentiation induction promoter and inducing differentiation, in a culture vessel coated by extracellular matrix; the culturing is carried out using a low-carbon-source culture liquid free of differentiation induction promoter. |
