A cabinet for electrical apparatus which is readily disassembled so that plates forming parts of some side walls may be removed for boring cable inlets and outlets, yet which is rigid and fluid-tight, comprises a back plate 10 or rectangular frame (6, Fig. 7, not shown) carrying four angle-iron corner posts 16 and having holes (13, Figs. 2 and 7, not shown) for screws fixing it to a support wall, for example. Removable plates 4 are located under lugs 15 on the posts 16 and retained by the main casing 2 of openended box form which slides over posts 16 and is secured by screws 5 passing through corner brackets 27 into fixed nuts 14. Packing 43 and 45 at their edges ensures a fluid-tight fit of plates 4, and a packing 25 provides a fluid-tight fit of casing 2 to the back plate 10. An internally-hinged door 3 forms a fluid-tight closure by means of packing, not shown. In a further embodiment special hinges (Figs. 8 to 12, not shown) enable the door to open beyond 90 degrees. |
