The testing device comprises a connection interface (14) to be connected to at least one input port of the bow steer control unit and a bow wheel speed simulating nit for generating a bow wheel speed simulation signal, which represents a particular simulated bow wheel speed value exceeding the predetermined speed value The generated bow wheel speed simulation signal is transmitted to the bow steer control unit via the connection interface. The output of the bow steer control unit in response to the received bow wheel speed simulation signal is then monitored.
