PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a wheel bearing device in which a bearing clearance adjustment is facilitated and at the same time an amount of use of expensive material having a high cleanliness factor used as a raceway surface is reduced to attain a low cost.SOLUTION: A wheel bearing 2 comprises an outer member 5 having a vehicle body fixing flange 3 integrally arranged at its outer circumference and formed with a fitting surface 10 at its inner circumference; an outer ring 6 press fitted to and fixed to the fitting surface 10 of the outer member 5 and formed with plural rows of outer raceway surfaces 6a at its inner circumference; a pair of inner rings 7, 8 internally inserted into the outer ring 6 and formed, at outer circumferences, with an inner raceway surfaces 7a oppositely facing against plural rows of outer raceway surfaces 6a; and plural rows of rolling motion members 9 rotatably stored between both raceway surfaces of these inner and outer rings. The fitting surface 10 of the outer member 5 is kept as its cutting work, after the outer ring 6 is press fitted and fixed to the outer member 5, the plural rows of outer raceway surfaces 6a are lathe turned, and the inner raceway surfaces 7a are lathe turned after the outer side inner ring 7 of the pair of inner rings 7, 8 is press fitted into a hub ring 1. |
