PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a powder composition having high transmittance of visible light and high shieldability against infrared rays, and a production method of the powder composition, and to provide a dispersion having high dispersion stability of the powder composition, and a coating composition having high dispersion stability of the powder composition, excellent film formability, and infrared ray shielding effect.SOLUTION: A powder composition comprises core-shell type fine particles which include a core part comprising aluminum-doped zinc oxide particles and a shell part comprising a polymer, and have an average particle diameter of 20 nm or more and 1,000 nm or less, and a zinc-aluminum layered double hydroxide. The scanning electron microscopic image area ratio of the zinc-aluminum layered double hydroxide is 50% or less with respect to 100% of the total area of the core-shell type fine particles and the zinc-aluminum layered double hydroxide.
