PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new and improved method and device of truing a cutting blade capable of preventing breakage of a tip part of a cutting blade, and easily making a tip shape into a flat shape.SOLUTION: In a method of truing a cutting blade 25 for fixing the cutting blade 25 to a rotary spindle movable in a direction along a center axis 26, vertically bringing the cutting blade 25 rotating with the rotary spindle into contact with a surface of a dresser board 30 for shaping, which is horizontally held on a chuck table 19d, moving the cutting blade 25 in a direction along the center axis 26 in parallel with a surface of the dresser board 30, and shaping a tip shape of the cutting blade 25 by the dresser board 30, it is constituted so that the dresser board 30 shapes the tip shape of the cutting blade 25 while relatively moving with a predetermined angle &thetas; to a position of the cutting blade 25. |
