<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent reduction in nip width or surface pressure in a nip part formed at a longitudinal end of a pressure roller 31, thereby preventing paper wrinkle or fixing failure.SOLUTION: A fixing apparatus includes: a fixing belt 21; a pressure roller 31; and a nip forming member 26 arranged inside the fixing belt 21 and forming a nip part between the fixing belt 21 and the pressure roller 31, in contact with the pressure roller 31 via the fixing belt 21. The nip forming member 26 is longer longitudinally than the pressure roller 31. A nip formation surface 26b of the nip forming member 26 to be loaded by the pressure roller 31 includes, in an unloaded state, an area located closer to a rotation axis of the pressure roller 31 and an area located farther from the rotation axis of the pressure roller 31, with respect to an imaginary line L formed by connecting a longitudinal center A of the nip forming member 26 and a position B of the nip forming member 26 opposite a longitudinal endmost part of the pressure member 31.</p> |
