PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inverted pendulum type moving body that allows a rider to stably ride on the inverted pendulum type moving body.SOLUTION: An inverted pendulum type moving body comprises: wheels provided at a front portion or a rear portion of the inverted pendulum type moving body; a grounding portion provided at the front portion or the rear portion of the inverted mobile body, at which the wheels are not provided; a control portion for locking the wheels; a ride detecting portion that detects that a rider has ridden the inverted pendulum type moving body; a grounding state detecting portion which, when the ride detecting portion detects that the rider has ridden the inverted pendulum type moving body, detects whether or not a state of the grounding portion is shifted, through a state where the grounding portion grounds the earth beyond a predetermined period of time, to a state where the grounding portion separates from the earth. When the grounding state detecting portion detects that the state of the grounding portion is shifted, through the state where the grounding portion grounds the earth beyond the predetermined period of time, to the state where the grounding portion separates from the earth, the control portion releases locking of the locked wheels and performs an inverted pendulum control for the inverted pendulum type moving body. |
