PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner and an image forming apparatus which assures high dust-proofing performance of the optical scanner and reliable movement of a shutter for covering an upper part thereof.SOLUTION: An optical scanner includes: an optical box 201 which allows an optical source unit 202 for generating an optical beam to be applied to a photoreceptor drum 102 to be attached and houses a rotary polygon mirror 230 and an optical member on an inner part; a cover 218 which has transparent windows 223 to 226 causing the optical beam to pass therethrough and covers an open surface of the optical box 201; and a shutter 300 which is arranged between the photoreceptor drum 102 and the cover 218 and is moved between such a position as to be retreated from an optical path of the optical beam passing through the transparent windows 223 to 226 and such a position as to cover the transparent windows 223 to 226. Therein, the cover 218 is provided with a seal member 250 integrally molded on a part brought into contact with the optical box 201, and a gate part 250a for molding the seal member 250 is provided on a recessed part disposed on a surface opposite to the shutter 300 of the cover 218. |
